Help

Stem Splitter takes a song and separates it into two tracks: the vocals and the instrumental. Use them for singing practice, karaoke, studying a part, or remixing your own music.

Questions

Why does the progress bar stop moving while it's separating?

The separation runs on a cloud GPU that doesn't report its progress back to the page. The bar sits still for a few minutes and then jumps to Ready. That's normal.

My track failed. What now?

The error is shown on the track. Your credit has already been returned. Delete the track (✕) and try again. If it fails again, try a different file format (MP3 works best) or email us with the error message.

The upload says the file is too big.

The limit is 80 MB. Use a single song rather than a full album or concert, or convert it to MP3, which is much smaller than WAV.

Can I paste a YouTube link?

Not at the moment. Upload an audio file instead. Here's how to get an MP3 from a video on your own computer.

How good is the separation?

It uses a state-of-the-art AI model (BS-Roformer) and is usually very clean. Songs with heavy effects, reverb, or backing vocals may leave faint traces of one part in the other.

Can other people see my tracks?

No. Your tracks and stems are private to your account.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Email dmakhija@nuvam.ai from the address you sign in with, and we'll remove your account and all your tracks.

Am I allowed to split any song?

Only submit audio you own or have permission to use, and use the results privately. See our Terms & Copyright.
